A little history of this song: The composer of this song Salil Choudhary had planned on having Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar sing this duet (to be picturised on Kishore & Pran). Lata Mangeshkar could not make it to the recording and they were planning on reshceduling, when Kishore volunteered to try the female parts himself. Salil Choudhary was hesitant, but Kishore convinced him and the rest is history
